Woods vs. Harrington for PGA lead

Tiger Woods and defending champion Padraig Harrington led an assault on Hazeltine, battling it out Friday August 21, 2009 for the lead at the 91st PGA Championship while fending off an army of challengers.

Woods showed why he is the ultimate grinder by maintaining the lead in the second round of the year's final major despite posting his first two bogeys of the tournament on the front nine.

Scores were not as low in the second round as the first, with the wind picking up throughout the day. Woods entered the second round with a one-shot lead after firing a five-under 67 in Thursday's opening round.

Woods did not compete in the 2008 PGA Championship after having surgery on his left knee missing a chance to defend the title he won in 2007.
